A dream sharing and painting gathering over tea in Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, exploring how our relationships with the natural world follow us into sleep. Through readings from her own dreams and a collection she is gathering for a book, Babette will open a conversation about how climate anxiety, awe and encounters with landscapes find expression in dreams. From recurring bushfire nightmares, floods, caves and waterfalls, these images offer a starting point for considering how fear and wonder can inhabit the same dreaming world. Participants will be invited to write down and, if they wish, share a remembered dream before using watercolour to paint small images from it: A creature, a place, an object or a fleeting patch of colour. No previous painting experience needed and no requirement to remember a complete dream. Those who wish may also contribute their dream to Babette’s forthcoming collection, with permission for inclusion in the book agreed separately.
